Meet Our Team

Emily Bracken - Head Trainer/Owner

Emily started her dog training career 16 years ago when she started as a puppy raiser for a service dog organization, Canine Companions. During the years she was raising service dogs, Emily recognized that she had a special talent for working with dogs and wanted to help others who struggled. In 2012 Emily purchased Dog Lovers Obedience School from Pat Lacy, the original owner. Since becoming the owner of Dog Lovers Obedience School, Emily continues to work on her education by attending seminars and workshops each year. Emily specializes in behavior modifications, puppy training, remote collar training, and therapy dog preparation. She is a firm believer in using the balanced method approach, which is using positive reinforcement to praise good behaviors and correcting negative behavior when needed.

Lore Quillin(they/them) - Apprentice Dog Trainer

Lore has always been passionate about all things dog, but really became involved in the world of dog training when they had the opportunity to train their in-home service dog, Ruthie. Lore chose DLOS to help them work Ruthie in group settings, favoring their belief in a balanced training approach. After graduating as a student, Lore returned as an apprentice trainer, eager to help more people connect with and teach their dogs. They have a special interest in early socialization, task training, and obedience foundations.

Jess Cagnina - Apprentice Dog Trainer

Jess has always loved having and being around dogs. In college, she studied biology because she knew wanted to work with animals in some way. After graduating, Jess started working in veterinary medicine and shortly after met a few friends that worked in dog training, who helped spark a new passion. Jess’ favorite thing about training is watching both the dogs and their owners grow together as a team. In Jess’ free time she enjoys taking her 2 pups, Tito (my lab/pittie mix) and Yogi (my 3 legged Papillon/chihuahua mix) out for hikes.

Mary - Dog Trainer

Mary has always had a special interest in dogs and started her career 5 years ago as an apprentice trainer after going through Dog Lovers classes with her Golden Retriever, Frankie. Mary loves learning new things about dog training and expanding her  knowledge so she can better help dogs and owners alike. Mary takes particular interest in behavior modification and puppy raising. In Mary’s free time, she does dog sports like agility and dock diving with her personal dogs, Frankie and Ladybird.
